Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using HostMoat ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

HostMoat is a vacation rental management platform that helps property owners manage bookings, calendars, finances, guests, and operations. The Service includes calendar synchronization, invoicing, contract management, cleaner coordination, and related tools.

3. Account Registration

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Subscription Plans

HostMoat offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.

5. Free Trial

New paid plan subscribers may receive a free trial period. At the end of the trial, you will be automatically billed unless you cancel. If you cancel during the trial, you will be moved to the free Starter plan.

6. Your Data

You retain ownership of all data you enter into HostMoat, including property information, booking records, guest details, financial data, contracts, and messages. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content.

You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the data you enter. You must have appropriate consent to store guest personal information in the platform.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Upload malicious code or content
  • Use the Service to send unsolicited communications (spam)
  • Resell or sublicense access to the Service without authorization

8. Calendar Sync and Third-Party Platforms

HostMoat syncs with third-party platforms (Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com) via iCal feeds. We are not responsible for data accuracy from third-party feeds or for any issues arising from sync delays. Calendar sync is provided on a best-effort basis and should not be your sole method of preventing double bookings.

9. Payment Processing

Invoice payments and subscription billing are processed by Stripe. Your use of Stripe is subject to Stripe's terms of service. HostMoat is not responsible for payment processing errors by Stripe.

10. Email Communications

When you use HostMoat to send invoices, contracts, booking confirmations, or other communications to guests, you are responsible for the content of those messages. Emails are sent from HostMoat's email infrastructure on your behalf.

11. Limitation of Liability

HostMoat is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost revenue, lost bookings, or data loss. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability. We will provide reasonable notice for planned maintenance.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the state where HostMoat is headquartered.
